Vulnerability is a characteristic trait that the world has defined as weak. That we shouldn’t show true emotions , and that we should learn how to mask and struggle behind the smile we show. It’s easy to do so when you’ve grown up in that type of environment, and so at the first time someone begins to expose certain areas of your life you shrink back and become ashamed. What if I told you that you’re fully known and loved by God?

Gods’ word declares that we are “fully known and fully loved” (Psalm 139)

He is the one who will lay us bare and begin to tell us everything about ourselves , in the most graceful and loving way possible. That means the only way to complete self-knowledge is to go to Jesus. God has called us to come before him completely naked, sharing our deepest thoughts, weakest moments and even some embarrassing moments. He won’t take those moments and make us feel even more shameful but he will use those moments to uncover more of who he is of being all knowing and then he will in turn teach us the areas we have to grow in.

In the garden of Eden when Adam and Eve had given in to sin, they both became aware that they were naked and in shame they tried to hide, but Gods heart was to find them despite their sin.

As much as we think we think we know ourselves God knows us far greater.

“…Declare me innocent from hidden faults” the psalmist had an understanding that he couldn’t even discern the deepest layers to himself but he ran to one person who could. The one person who knows everything about us and loves us dearly even still.

If my deepest thoughts, hurts, struggles and moments of confusion were exposed many would probably run from me but there is one who is greater than all who never will. Instead he says I am fully known & loved by Him.

Being exposed by God isn’t easy but he comforts me with his love and security and I know he won’t turn his back on me.
