At this moment in life, I see many trials in my presence and many more to come. These trials are here to test my faith. An encouraging bible verse through this moment is James 1:2-4
'Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything '
Times of trial come in many different ways and it's hard to find the joy within it. The way it feels is overwhelming and nothing can be done to stop it. However, the bible tells us Ephesians 6:13-18
'Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.'
So I stand firm, I put on the gospel's armor. I know that to equip myself with the armor, God has given me I have to listen to the message, he is trying to give me. Just like it says in Romans 10:17. Trials should not lead you away from God but closer to him. 1 Timothy 4:16 says for us to watch our life and doctrine closely and that is an encouragement to keep in line with the word of God and allow him to direct us in our life.
This is why, it's important to pray to God with everything that weighs on your heart. Allowing him to have control over the things that are happening in our lives. God knows our heart and that is true. However, just like any parent he wants his children to come to him and trust that they can share anything with him. To me, I see God as my father, a father whom I can come to and share my heart with, and I don't have to worry about him judging me or even using what I told him against me.
Because he is a father who supports his children, through love, forgiveness, grace, and salvation. He is the one who loves us like there is no tomorrow. His love is greater than anyone else's. This is why there is no reason for us to worry. Just like it says in Matthew 6:33 "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."
What the scripture is saying here is that if we seek first his kingdom which is his people and his righteousness which we find in the word of God. All of our worries will be taken care of, that doesn't mean that you don't have to work or put in any effort but that you need to do the work he has given you.
